by Karen K.F. | We are so excited to begin a new nine-week course to learn about and discuss world events, stimulate thinking and rediscover the art of discourse. The course is called Great Decisions, and it’s billed as America’s largest discussion program on world affairs.
by Karen K.F. | Forward Chicago is thrilled to launch a Speaker Series as a follow-up to last summer’s Aging 2.0 conference. From May through July, seminars covering a range of topics will be held at Sulzer Public Library on the first and third Mondays from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
by Karen Kolb Flude | Forward Chicago’s Winter Newsletter is hot off the presses! We are delighted to feature some of our members so you can get to know them and recognize familiar faces at events.
Sulzer Library is turning 30 and is hosting a week-long celebration, from Nov. 9 to Nov. 14. Don’t miss the band concert, the neighborhood history collection, and the open house with music and refreshments!
Fall is off to a super start and we have plenty to do (looks like Jerry is ready for Halloween!). Join us for a visit to Westridge Nature Preserve, extended bridge hours at Sulzer Library, astronomy discussions by University of Chicago astrophysicists and more.
by Pat McFarland | On Sept. 3, we viewed a distant galaxy’s “family photos” of newborn planets, and witnessed a Red Giant Star navigate its way thru those terrible teens to becoming a neutron star.
We’re heading to Adler Planetarium on Sept. 3 with our own personal tour guide, an astrophysicist who will answer our questions and guide us through exhibits. Plenty of time to explore on your own, too!
If these questions about the universe fascinate you, come to the Forward Chicago Astronomy & Astrophysics Series!
Join us for one or more of our Spring and Summer Technology Meet-Up workshops. The dates are: May 20, June 10 and July 13.
