Learn to Think Like a Burglar

broken windowWondering how to protect your home from a break-in and burglary? You might want to ask an expert.

On Saturday, March 7, CAPS will host Keeping It Real, a panel discussion on home burglary. The panel will consist of actual burglars who will share “honest and in-depth details about tricks of their trades.”

One of our members who attended a previous Keeping it Real panel described it as an excellent opportunity to hear directly from those who know a thing or two about burglaries.

The discussion will take place at the 20th District Police Station (5400 N. Lincoln Ave.) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Here’s are some of the topics that will be addressed:

  • What types of neighborhoods burglars target and what they look for
  • What burglars like to steal
  • Length of time it takes to complete a burglary
  • Favorite entry points
  • Burglars’ favorite rooms
  • How burglars get items out of the house
  • What happens to stolen goods
